It’s the beginning of a brand new year.
Another year when the Lords return is very near.
What New Year’s Resolutions did you make?
How long will it take some of us to break?

Every year I plan to do better than the last.
Now my life seems to be going so very fast.
I remember the resolutions I previously made.
And, how fast they were forgotten or began to fade.

Some of the memories are still fresh in my mind.
Some of these memories I wish I could leave behind.
We all make mistakes, some that we cannot undo.
I can recall some of these. How about you?

There is, however, someone that will always forgive.
And, He will always forgive me for as long as I live.
He is my Heavenly Father, He is full of love and grace.
He is always with me no matter the problems I face.

Now I can confront this new year without frustration or fear.
Knowing that the Lord and His angels are always near.
He always has my best interest in mind, is loving and kind.
Jesus Christ my Savior and Lord, is the best friend you could ever find!
