If you're like many of us and have done things in your life you now regret,

Here’s good news from Almighty God — it’s not too late for you yet.

We’ve all done things in the past that we know we shouldn’t have done.

This was before we accepted Jesus as our Savior — you’re not the only one.

 

But, when you accepted Jesus as your Savior, you were changed that day.

Now you are adopted into the family of God, even when you go astray.

Just like the prodigal son in the Bible when he left to go and sin.

His father didn’t divorce him from the family, right there and then.

 

No, even when the son was living a life full of things he knew he shouldn’t do,

He never lost his family identity, unbelievable to some, but very true.

When the young man came to his senses and thought about his life,

He then realized all his worldly living and partying only brought grief and strife.

 

The son then saw the way his father treated the servants was always kind and good.

He knew he had really messed up his life and now he finally understood

That living your life this way will always bring you pain and regret.

He wondered if his father would still remember him and even forgive him yet.

 

We all know the story, how the father saw him ragged and torn coming from afar,

He ran to meet his son. I can only imagine what the boy thought right then of his pa.

He had his story all rehearsed and would ask only for a lowly servant job that day.

But, the father, full of love and compassion, kissed his son and welcomed him home to stay.
