Now that Dennis Hoffman has retired,
yes, he actually did retire and wasn’t fired,
there is a big pair of shoes in Burke to fill.
I hope we find someone capable to fill this bill.

He was our Chief of Police for many years.
He was able to keep us safe, we had no fears.
He was like our family and also our friend.
He kept up his vigilance, up to the end.

I, for one, owe him a debt of gratitude.
He, I believe, saved my life with his great attitude.
When I came down with a life threatening disease
he was able to help me, he heard my pleas.

Yes, Dennis Hoffman is a man we all admire.
It’s unfortunate for us that he had to finally retire.
Tho, many wanted him to know he will be missed,
some will be glad they are finally off his problem list.
