I thank God I live in this small town here
No, we are not a town where we need to fear
Life here is simple, safe and friendly too
A town where people truly care about you

 

Sure I admit we don’t have a large city store
But we have, what I consider, a whole lot more
We have a dedicated and effective resident volunteers 
They respond quickly when trouble appears.

 

Yes, Burke, South Dakota, is my town of choice
When I see what’s happening elsewhere I rejoice
That I live here where there is no riots and stress
Life in some of those big cities today, is a real mess
