It seems when I want to do right I don’t
It also seemed to be a fact of life for me

But thank God, Jesus has now set me free.

Now when I’m doing wrong I know it
It’s the sin nature in me wants to control me
It lie’s and tells me that it’s OK do it anyway
However, I now know everything was forgiven eternally.

By Jesus when he suffered and died
On the cross he took all our sins that way
All the sins we would ever commit
That includes yesterday, tomorrow and today.

I admit this was hard to comprehend for me
But I believe what the Bible has taught me now
That all my sins are forgiven and forgotten
Because of the atonement by Jesus that’s how.

Now I can lead a life wanting to please Him
I know that He loves me and I love Him too
My sin nature is now no longer in control, it’s true
So now I can be happy with Jesus in everything I do
