Here's a tribute to the town I love.

I really feel this town is blessed from God above.

The townsfolk are friendly, kind  and true

Their qualities are evident through and through.

 

Where is this town with the great big heart.

It's in South Dakota, here's a hint, that's a start.

The town is also the county seat

Living in this town is hard to beat

 

The town's name is Burke it's home to me

In my opinion, the best place to be.

We don't have a Walmart or other large store

But we have many other benefits that we love even more

 

Our police force is small because that's all we need

Our crime rate is low that's a wonderful benefit indeed

When the emergency whistle blows for a fire or alarm

Our volunteers will respond quickly to a home or a farm

 

The fishing and hunting here are also the best

We have many visitors that have tried the rest
